Fasting · When the moment comes

Fast six days of Shawwal

The practice
After Eid al-Fitr, fast six days in Shawwal (together or spread out).
When
The days after Eid al-Fitr, during Shawwal
In daily life
The day after Eid, open your calendar and pick your six days: a couple each week, a run of weekends, whatever fits around work and family visits. They don't have to be in a row, and fasting alongside your spouse or a friend makes it easier.
