The hadith behind every Sunnah
Every narration that an Uswa habit comes from, in Arabic with its translation and reference. Uswa uses three collections only.
Sahih al-Bukhari146 narrationsCompiled by Imam Muhammad ibn Isma‘il al-Bukhari (d. 256 AH). Sunni scholarship has long held it to be the most authentic book after the Qur’an. These are the narrations Uswa’s habits come from.Sahih Muslim29 narrationsCompiled by Imam Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj (d. 261 AH). With al-Bukhari it forms the two Sahihs, the collections held to contain only authentic narrations. These are the narrations Uswa’s habits come from.Jami at-Tirmidhi14 narrationsCompiled by Imam Abu ‘Isa Muhammad at-Tirmidhi (d. 279 AH). Its narrations vary in strength, so Uswa uses only those that al-Albani grades sahih or hasan sahih and that no grader in the edition calls weak.
